20L Nano & Pogostemon Helferi

Hello,

I have this 20L aquarium and I would like to grow Pogostemon Helferi in it. I wanted to know if CO2 is required for this plant or if it will be ok to use Excell. I will be using EI as a dosing regime. Tropica says that CO2 is not required to grow this plant and that it would just grow slower without CO2.

Hi Jaap
I had been dosing liquid carbon in a small heaterless 20cm x 20cm Do! aqua cube which included Blyxa/Pogostemon Helferi......plus a few stems.
Substrate was Zambezi River Sand.....no issues with liquid carbon, but as was stated plants where a tad slow growing...but healthy

Did you use the stated dose of liquid carbon or did you overdose to keep algae at bay?

What was your fertilisation regime?

Had Anubias petite also in there which had algae on the leaves.
So I dosed 1ml approx daily so you could say I overdosed in that size of tank....no issues.

Fertilzer Routine.
Toby's recipe minus the urea
1ml as per EI weekly routine...Trace Tuesday/Thursday...1ml.
50% water change weekly.

Yes, should be okay..i was using a small led light.
