Looking to go the natural way, aka using John Innes no3 and then capping it off with sand, I already have a recommendation for pool filter sand which comes in various gradients, but this will be costly and a little hastle, so seeking another option...

also personal experiences do you bother or use a soil divider? nd if so why and what or where do you get it :D

I use nylon mesh a little larger opening's than window screen in 29 gal tank with soil and sand cap.Found it at craft/hobby store. It helps keep the sand from finding it's way to the bottom, and dirt from finding it's way to the top.
If your not one of those who frequently uproot's plant's,then perhap's this measure would not be needed.
I believe the nylon I utilized will deteriorate/rot over time, but it was what I could easily find.
