Any neat tricks to stop snails escaping

Hi

recently bought 10 Nerties and all good, but one bugger seems to always try to escape, caught him this morning at he bottom of the cupboard. Any suggestions as to how to prevent this. My water is already an inch lower than the top, so don’t really want to go lower than this.

They weren't red racer Nerites by any chance?

It was a mixed bag of ten, think it could be a racer, looking at some of the examples Online. Will try and get a pic later today.

I find red racers have a tendency to go walkabout more than the others and I do think they are much happier in brackish water.
My lfs gave up trying to keep them in the fresh tanks and they had them in full marine conditions.

Lol, had words this morning. Threaten to tether her up if she keeps misbehaving
