hi all

i have some rocks i can work with but
as pointed out to me here they will be too low
when my hairgrass grows

any tip for things to sit them or raise up areas
apart from more mail order rocks and more expense!

substrate is small pea gravel on flourite sand

i can pile the pea gravel up but the rocks want to sink down into it

When I wanted mounds in my last scape I used the Tropica to make the mounds and then the sand on top of that. Worked fine until the fish levelled it out a bit. However with rocks on top of the mounds the fish can't level them

With a bit of silicone sealant glue smaller pieces of rock to the underneath to make them higher. Just make sure you won't see the joints...

Sit it on anothe rrock underneath... the plants will more than likely cover the lower rock from view

would terracotta pots and saucers do the job
they are aquarium safe, right?

would there be any issue with anerobic areas
i dont suppose so?

hi guys

im plugging away with my scape layout ideas
and was just wondering if there is any water health issues with
having deep piles of gravel, say up to six inches in places,
like anerobic areas or anything like that.
I also want to raise up a rock a good bit so i was going to
to sit it on a terracotta pot filled with gravel

regards
