I'm really happy with the final result, have to pass by to take some new photos, with clear water

nice layout. discus colours are amazing.

This petshop is well known for the trade of this beutiful discus fish ;)

Nuno, did you create this scape? If so, would the shop do the maintenance?

Yes I did scape this tank , along with other exposition 100cm one for the store, here is the link for the other journal http://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/aquascaping-workshop-a-casa-dos-discus-09-04-2016-portugal.40591/ ;)

As for the maintenance I will from time to time do some scissor work, all the rest it's beeing taken care by the store owner , this one is going to be fertilized with Seachem In Vitro Line and the bigger one with Tropica Line all in a daily basis, water changes of 50% daily on the first week and after that 30% weekly ...

I will also try to updatre this Jornals with my store visits so you all can see the develpments :)

Thanks for your reply and much appreciated!

Very nice work indeed!!

Both layouts looks stunning. Could not say that about discus. Some specimens are in extremely poor condition - pay attention at eye/body ratio.

Hi EdwinK,

Not really an specialist on Discus fish, but they seemed pretty healthy from my point of view, with stunning colors, could you develop on that eye body ratio ??

Regards ...

They look to be fairly typical discus from mass or general production farms - even specialist breeders have lesser quality fish that are "culls" ... important thing is that the discus pictured look to be alert & in good condition :)

Tank looks great (though I like the previous workshop tank better :) )

They have eye size of an adult fish and body size says that these are juveniles. I like to call them "zippers".

As I said I'm not really a Discus fish specialist, :) as you said thay are juveniles, won't their growth make things more even ??

Thanks for your words alto :)

No, it won't. Maybe there is a small chance that they grow a bit bigger but they never reach a size and shape of a real discus. This is due to poor water quality or insufficient feeding during the fry stage.

Is always good to learn more about the Hobby ;)

I thought the fish were beautiful. I used to have a miniature poodle. She was too big to show but she was a beautiful dog and a great pet. Most of the time that is all people want.
