Asellus aquaticus

Hyalella azteca is best for tropical aquariums. It tolerates a very low amount of oxygen and high water temperature. It is very effective in cleaning the aquarium from organic waste and is extremely productive. One of my most favorite live foods!

Really interesting thread. Currently setting up a 60L cube planted tank, and will definitely include Asellus and Crangonyx. I like the idea that these will breed and the young will provide a food source for the fish to hunt. I come across these species regularly when doing macroinvertebrate surveys in my line of work, so will have no trouble sourcing them!
