Braking Fosilised Wood

Anyone broken some of this up? Is just hammer time and see what comes out?

I've got a lump from another tank which is just sitting there, I want to use it on another scape so would a smack with a hammer do it?

You've got it mate, a hammer and chisel and some safety goggles. Sometimes it's quite white on the inside so chisel accordingly and be careful!

:Tip: To save loosing an eye or more importantly the sexy little bits that fly off (joke), try and cover as much of the rock with a towel and then hit it
