Budget Koi pond

Herons were such a bane at MA derby.
Being in such a rural location and surrounded by fields. The Herons would perch in trees nearby and would watch us about 4pm. Then around 5pm they would land on the garden centre roof, again watching us.
After we left they would fly down and just gobble all they could. And then take their time throughout the night eating what they wanted and would come in to find vats empty and lots of fish with stab mark from the beaks.

Yes the Vats were covered with heavy duty wire netting. And then 2 more layers of netting etc. And they would just walk on the frames and take what they wanted.
Some were cheeky enough to land when there were customers milling about. And just wanted to grab them and wring their necks, but couldn't obvs. They once ate a whole shipment of stertlets I'm one night 🌙.

I saw a brand called Ezponds which were prebuilt with a viewing window. Made from very strong plastics etc. That looked decent. All the filtration etc was also built into a sump area.
