can I lay my co2 canister on its side?

hello,
what are your thoughts on laying a co2 bottle on its side... it's not a fire extinguisher, but a refillable 2kg bottle.
anyone done this?

i dont think your meant to do this because the co2 is in liquid form and can damage the reg if the bottle is not up right

Yep, it's full of liquid CO2 - on its side will pump the liquid CO2 out instead of the gas...not good!

although that said the guy who filled my fes said they should be used upside down as they have a draw straw and pull liquid up right

My 600g disposable cylinder is on its side, no problems at all, although I don't think I'll try it with my huge pub cylinder! As long as its on a very slight incline it should be fine.

Yep. My 600g disposable has been on its side since day 1. No obvious problems.

thanks everyone, I chopped a section out of the self so it'll fit standing up, wasn't too much of a problem in the end.
