Chladophlora Moss Balls Attach To Hardscape

If I cut apart Chladophlora moss balls and stick them to rock will they naturally attacht in time?

I stuck one on wood and it never attached.

Just super glue them, I have noticed after a few years little hairs of the algae / chlado will start to appear on other surfaces, extremely slow growing tho and they generally only grow on the side the moss ball is exposed to light so they never really attach as that surface gets no light as they are very dense.

Glue them that's what I have done

I too have glued mine to rock and 6 months later it is still there and has exploded.
