I use citric acid in warm water to remove limescale from my fitting, safer than cillit-bang.

Yes, you could but this stuff was baked on....so my method was to spray kitchen towel till wet, leave it over night then give it another spray in the morning!
Have a cuppa then commence cleaning!!!
Should be fine with lots of clean water, filter will be getting packed away into the box as I'm not using it on project 2022!!

Strangely enough that album was given to me by my first serious Girlfriend in the 70s.....then 45 years later I got this mug as a birthday present last year from her!!
"Smiler" it is apt after cleaning that thing!
