help members.
i have read lots about co2 & flow so came up with this idea of using an air stone and newjet mj 1700 pump, it in volves the pump running from the bottom corner connected to this is a 22mm pipe running upto the brace bar and then a 90 bend then running along the back wall of the 5ft tank every 2" there is a 5.5 mm hole so this becomes the spray bar, it points down half way to the tank to give co2 time to act with the water and its giving great flow, i will check how much by connecting a pipe and jug and then count the time it takes to fill to a set leval.but looking at it i would say its more that 10x flow
instead of buying up atamizer i came up with drilling a 5mm hole just above the flow outlet of the mj1700 and i inserted a 45 air bend fitting and then airstone up from the bend about 3", the passing flow has only 5-7mm to flow round the stone and it gives just as much mist as atamizers do.
the other idea i have is to wire the pump in with the jbl proflora control so the pump only comes on when the proflora control adds co2 being as i will keep discus i think the flow would be way to much all the time.
if members like this idea i will add pics.
