Hi all,

Starting out with CO2 and wanting recommendations for a regulator that doesn’t break the bank and also a CO2 cylinder.
Thanks

The sticky on cheap Co2 would be really helpful. This is the approach I followed:

Regulators and solenoid can be the expensive bit and run from the premium Co2 art products (with excellent customer support) through to cheap ones from Aliexpress.

Thanks for the reply. The thread isn’t working with where to buy the regulator from? Any ideas what make and model it is?

Thinking of getting these two. Would I need a bubble counter?

I'd take a look at the dual stage regs on offer at CO2 Art, they are good quality at decent prices and the customer and after sales service are second to none. The TMC reg looks like it's single stage which isn't so good. And yes you will need a bubble counter. The CO2 Art reg below has one built in.

And I'd also take @Onoma1 advice and use a fire extinguisher. It's by far the most cost effective method. They can usually be bought locally https://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/where-to-get-co2-cannisters-and-refills.4612/

No you dont need one - but very useful when adjusting the flow rate as newbie. Once the flow is set and your happy with the CO2 profile the bubble counter is a obsolete. One off mine hasnt had water in it for well over a year but use to tweaking it without the aid of the BPS

Bought one of these CO2 art regulators and a fire extinguisher off somebody. How would I know there is no CO2 left, will the psi be at zero?

Just about to acquire a new tank (Gumtree) that is coming with a JBL Pro Flora M502 CO2 dispensing system; as someone brand new to CO2 (have had a big tank for around 18 months now and worked well without CO2, this additional tank is to allow me to get a couple of Angelfish) are there are particular "watch-outs" to pay attention to?
