i just wanted people opinions on what they think will look best-
in my rio 180 i instaled the juwel 3D stone granit background http://www.juwel-aquarium.de/en/motive_background_stone494.htm and with the tank came the usual natural gravel http://www.ataktrucking.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/post.gravelpea-gravel-3-8-white-300x30.jpg simular to this in colour-quite bright-especialy against a dark background.
and i just wanted to know if people would think the light gravel against the dark backgroud
or if i buy dark gravel against a dark background.

i personaly think the dark gravel will look better ;)

If you are determined to keep the background then I would make the substrate dark to match and then use the plants as the contrast against their surroundings.
