How deep is the substrate....seems you have a lack of good bacteria biomass within the substrate....causing anaerobic conditions!
JBL Manado....could be the problem....basically its just clay....with no added fertilizer's!

JBL Manado itself doesn’t contain any fertilizer. JBL Manado is, however, able to absorb nutrients (especially trace elements) to supply to the plant roots.
For a good plant growth it is advisable to use JBL AquaBasis plus underneath JBL Manado.
Remove the balansae to the other aquarium....and proceed with 50% large water changes every few days!
Purchase some fast growing cheap stem plants, these will help with maturing the substrate faster than crypts which can be very slow to get acclimatised!
