Cube 40, planted tank

Hi all,

I started my new tank a week ago. It's a cube 40 (40L).
I hope I can place an update every 1 or 2 weeks ;)

technics:
-eden 501 filter
-jbl protemp 25 heater
-standard led light, with an extra lamp
-co2 system

plants:
-I don't know the names of most plants :banghead:

fish:
-5 rasbora maculatus
-5 corydoras pychmaeus
-15 crystal red/black shrimp with taiwan bee gen + some baby shrimp :)

I tried cleaning the diffusor with a normale toohbrush, but that didn't work... Nut het still gives very fine bubbles :)

Hi Nick,
good start to the tank :thumbup:

Regards the diffusor, to clean it properly you need to remove it and soak it in a 10:1 bleach/water solution, preferably overnight. Then rinse repeatedly to remove the bleach smell and soak, ideally again overnight, in water treated with a dechlorinator. Because it takes a day or two to complete the process people often have two diffusors so they can swap them out when one is being cleaned :) Otherwise you can do the process whilst lights out or even leave the lights off for a day. Its amazing the difference it makes to the efficiency.
