I've found ivy branches on a tree that would look stunning in my new aquarium. I know that it's dead wood for at least a year. Yes or no? I know the leaves are poison but what about the wood?

Toxicodendron radicals is the poisonous variety of ivy. I believe its native to the US. are you from the UK?

This link will help https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxicodendron_radicans

If your from UK its not likely to be the poisonous variety. If it was the poisonous variety then the poison would be present in the wood like section.

Furthermore if it was poisonous variety it should cause irritation if you touch the leaves or hairs on the stem/vine.

From Ireland so would be the irish and UK variety of ivy. Leaves are not an issue because the plant is dead at least a year.
