Diatom solution that isn't Oto's or Snails?

My Fluval Ebi (30 litres) is a good couple of months old now, but still producing a lot of diatoms on the glass. With it being so small, I don't really want to put 4 Oto's in there, and after my previous experience with Red Ramshorn snails taking over my tank, I don't want to put them in there.

So, is there another solution? If not then I'll have to teach myself some patience!

Same issue here might try a few ramshorns. Are they ok with ph's around 6?
I understood the cause of this was filter media not being very mature which can't be true give I am 4 months+ in and ammonia etc are as close to 0 as you can get.

The diatoms are telling you that you have too much light. Do a 3-4 day blackout and resume the lighting at lesser intensity.

Cheers Clive. I've put two layers of frosted film over the top a week or so ago, so I'll try putting even more on!
