Do I need to clean the sand substrate?

My new Juwel Vision 260 arrived yesterday and have just picked up 5 bags of 10 kg JBL sansibar black sand bags, which im going to use as a cap layer on top of some pond soil. Do I need to clean/rinse the sand before putting it in the tank?

I've used JBL Sansibar sand on a few occasions.
I didn't wash it, there might be slight clouding but it's pretty clean otherwise!
