Hi, I use staples to fix mine to the wood. For some reason mine dosent seem to attach itself but it grows like mad.::) it probably depend on what type of moss you have.

Hi, Java is one of few that do naturally attach to hardscape. To encourage spreading apply it thinly to the branch rather than in clusters. With yours id trim it, and tie the offcuts to more of the branch for an instant effect  It will always grow outwards too, so will need trimming regardless.
Cheerio,
Ady.

I shredded Peacock Moss, Willow, Java, Spiky etc when setting up the current tank. Then let it settle in the flow. And I am seeing some very good growth from all the moss.
I will have this tank covered in Moss' in the next few months
