Fast growth - good or bad?

I planted/filled on Monday, 5 days ago. One of my banana plants has produced a shoot which has gone straight up to the water surface - about 12" in 4 days. Is this an indication of;

a) All being well in the tank, OR
b) Something (Perhaps light) being badly wrong?
c) Can't possibly tell from the behaviour of one plant..

(I'm coming from a reef background, where a foot of growth is measured in months if not years, so may be overreacting).

Nyphmiods tend to be a very fast growing plant, some tend to be. Sounds like the conditions are good.
