I'm thinking about a future temperate tank (up to 300 litres) and wondering whether it is practical to stock zebra danios, white cloud minnows and along with Celestial Pearl Danios (and other small temperate fish). Does anyone have experience of the bigger fish predating the smaller in this kind of set-up? It will be a heavily planted with some natural light.

All the fish you've listed eat their young 👍 I don't think CPDs are temperate, you'd need to heat this to about 21c (not lower), I haven't kept the other fish to be able to comment further 😊

Why not medium size Barbs in numbers, Gold Barbs colour up in planted aquariums like you rarely see in the shops, important to have a group in numbers suggest 6, and more females to males, don't show aggression IME ,and generally swim together
