I watched with interest people making home made 3D backgrounds, many of them actually using concrete of some kind. Now I don't fancy doing that at all but would like to know if there is any alternative i.e. fish and invertebrate safe spray paint for example? That might look kind of rock coloured?

Would love to see example pics if anyone here has done something like that using paint - what kind/where from? :)

If you mean like a sculptured background, you need to use some polyurethane foam to carve and create the shapes or the look that you want and then coat it with a resin.

You can either buy coloured resin, or buy pigments to get the exact colour you want.

I've used these a few times, decent price and service: CFS Fibreglass
