Fluval Flex planted tank

I really like your tank and the way you have adapted your scape to optimise conditions. Awesome set up! I'm really surprised about your hair grass, I didn't think the led in the lid would be able to give out enough light for hair grass. Yours looks like it's doing well.

I hope you get a chance to give us an update. You've certainly inspired me.
Cheers

Hi All,

Thought I would update this Journal. After my initial scape I changed it around a bit but because it was located in the main living room and I didn't want to be trailing buckets and hoses around the tank suffered from neglect for a number of months. Staghorn and various algae took over but I have since moved it up to my office and its a joy to spin in my chair and stare at the tank. See my recent issues Nutrient spikes from which I have learned quite a lot.

Today I would appreciate some feed back on my structure, observations and pH profile.

I have carried out a pH profile using a calibrated pH pen. Today is the most recent trend. I believe that Co2 uptake has increased with greater plant mass. Over the coming weeks I will increase Co2 input in response to consecutive days where the average pH level is higher. I have also increased my Tropica Specialised dosing from 1.5ml/day to 3ml/day. I noted GSP Algae appearing so I wanted more Phosphates. I have not got around to calculating nutrient concentrations but I will start looking into making my own mixes as a 300 ml bottle will last approx. 100 days.

Pictures: Sorry about the quality. I have an old DSLR but I haven't figured out how to photograph this tank yet.

The Anubias Nana is a beautiful plant but I know that it is too big for this scape. Would you suggest something else for the back?
The Limnophila sessiliflora is nice too but becomes a bit stringy under the low intensity light of the flex. Would you suggest another replacement or some hard scape for the right hand side?

Setup Details
Weekly 50 - 80% water change.
Daily dose 3 ml Tropica Specialised into 57 liters (total tank volume but not including hardscape)
Co2 pressurized injection, caramic diffuser into intake of pump delivered via spray bar for circular flow.
11 Galaxy Rasboras
10 Shrimp mix of Wine Red and Win Red Mosura
3 Amano
2 Otto
1 Nerite

Really interesting stuff, I'm just in the process of starting my first aquascaping 😅 using a flex 57l, CO2 seems to be a big thing, would you recommend spending on something decent? Have you any recommendations.
Apologies I am only getting to this now. I am happy with my Co2 Art regulator.

Hairgrass grows very slowly but it does fill out eventually. I get some Die off and this is usually the first plant to develope Algae if maintenance is not strict! Thank you for your comment.
