Ancient but no genetic deterioration.

I've seen documentaries about tropical wood logging and huge enormous trees beeing felled.. Or those Canadian giant Sequoia trees.. Watching this i always feel like Obelix's little dog, dogmatix (Idéfix). Realy sad.

Why would one cut down a 4000 year old tree and feel good about it? It's lakking more respect than the tree can produce wood. :(
