Hi All,

I only have an 11w lamp on my tank which is pretty poor I know.

I also saw this for sale too:
HAGEN GLO T8 HO TWIN LIGHT STARTER 2 X 40W

Would this be too strong on the fish?

I saw this recently in my LFS and just wondered is it any good? Would it show noticeable differences to plant growth?

I have a low tech setup (no nutrient rich setup at the beginning), no Co2 or fertiliser added.

I'm currently going with the easy growers (java fern, etc). Still learning :)

Cheers to all.

what size is the tank? how many us gallons?

the 40w tubes are normally about 120cm long, so i doubt that would fit your tank, by guessing your tank is alot smaller going by the small 11w light. just get another 11w light off ebay for about a tenner. type in marine white light, its a clip on.

no problem, i gueesed the tube would be too big.

did you know that you can have a larger amount of fish in a tank that is 60 long than 60cm high?
due to the surface area.
its just that most people buy long tanks rather than high, unless you are limited on space.

Hi Nick,

Unfortunately the area where I have the tank is a bit short on space.

I'll be upgrading to a Rio 125 later in the year.

Learning a lot from this forum with regard to scaping, plants, ideas, etc :)
