Halide and "PL Lamps"

Hi folks, i've just bought a second hand one of these and i'm lost as to what the "PL Lamps" are, any ideas on what they are and where to get them from?

They look about right pal, do you recon the "PL" is part of Philips brand?

I think PL is a standard... I thought the Interpet Power Compacts used PL tubes?
