Have tried to pin down hornwort - Ceratophyllum submersum - to small stones witch fishing wire ... but most of them returns to the surface after some time (2-7 days). Im sure I have tied them thoughroughly , so im thinking that the plant itself manages to break free - maybee because the part of the stem attached to the wire melts ...
A few of the hornworts seems to stay in place??
I have tried to tie them up with a few simple knots that cannot loosing by itself, and at the same time trying to avoid tightening the nots to tight so the stem not getting damaged, but apparantly this has not been sufficient.
Any experiences with how to anchor the hornworts?

Hi all,
Any experiences with how to anchor the hornworts?
Just don't try. <"They don't actually have any roots"> and want to grow as a sub-surface floater. It is a bit like when people try to use <"Riccia as a carpet"> etc. doomed to failure in the long run.

You might want them near the bottom of the tank, but they want to be at the water's surface, where the PAR and CO2 are.

cheers Darrel
