How to make a nice background?

Hey guys

I'm trying to make a beautiful background for my nano. The tank has a sticker on the backside which gives it a sandblasted look. I'd like to add some colour since the filter, which is positioned behind the nano, can be seen. I tried a black background but in combination with the sticker it gives a "worn down" look. Any tips? I like backgrounds with a light effect.

I'm looking for a plastic background ,like a poster against the glass, much like the ones used in Nature Aquariums (all black etc)

I had a good look at George's scapes and noticed that he either uses a poster or the colour of the wall in combination with a light source. Since my filter is located behind the tank I have no choice but to remove the sticker and use just the poster.
