Last night i said to my partner "hey remember that tank (we) I had with gravel and one big bit of bog wood with some moss"?
We had one lovely Shubunkin and a little internal filter. Probably 30 litres.
I got all that stuff from a small shop in Holborn London back in the day, 25 years ago. Loved that family run business. Probably another sandwich shop now.
Anyway.. I really miss that gravel vibe. I have Tropica Soil and its bloody boring at best.
Has anyone put a really good substrate down then capped it with gravel?
Maybe a fine one first (sand....to stop nutrients seeping through) then loads of lovely gravel.
Pretty sure i had Pea Gravel back in the day, but i am wondering if theres one a bit smaller? Getting the larger stuff is easy now. Wio and Dennerle do some really nice biotope specialist stones.
Anyway lets see what you got. Bet quite a few of you lot have similar fond memories?
Cheers.
