Currently third day cycling, still ammonia levels at .25ppm, don't know why my pH is reading around 8.2

Here's some pictures of the tank after planting some more HC and reorganizing the plants;

I like it, simple and clean looks good so far anymore plants going in?

Hey thanks, at the moment trying to keep only a few species of plants. If able to find some more plants of the species in the tank will probably add, to keep filling up.

Love that wood - are you going to remove the rock on top of the wood? I assume it's just there to keep it from floating? You don't see many planted tanks with sumps - have you got any mechanical media in there, or just bio in the bag?

Tom

Found that wood on a lake, had me covered in mud to the knees to get it :lol: . YES! the rock is there just to hold the wood... don't know how long it takes, already removed another one it had. On the filter just the bag for now, though the bag works like a mechanical filter. Used to have a complete setup with sponges and other things, looking to retain all the Co2 possible and remove everything adding O2 to the water and creating turbulence. Maybe later on in the afternoon if not tomorrow will add some pictures of the filter.

The first think I thought as I read the opener was under filtered... That being said I really like what you've done. The scape looks really good. I'm also interested to see how you go with the garden soil mix substrate. :thumbup:

Hey my mistake filter capacity is way over 4000L/Hr, must have said filter contains 208L of water :crazy: . Thanks, I've worked about some 8 setups with the garden soil and works pretty good, only had algae problems on one setup but I think it was mostly light issues. Thanks for the reply.

There's a dead spot at the left side of the aquarium, thinking maybe a wave-maker like a Koralia would do the job? Just not sure what size should use, never used one... Also most of the water has cleared up, doing 200L water changed daily for the last 3 days, will keep up water changes for a couple days more until ammonia levels go down, currently reading .25ppm guess it has to do with it been a new tank.

Here's the new plant list;

myriophyllum tuberculatum red
rotala rotundifolia
mexican oak leaf
rotala macrandra
hygrophilia corymbosa "stricta"
bacopa australis
didiplis diandra
golden lloydiella
cardamine lyrata
h. micranthemoides

and a picture of how its looking, still yet the water needs to clear a bit more...

Coments are welcomed :D

Loving it :) Larger tanks leave so much more scope for planting without leaving the water column stuff full.

Do you plan to put some animals inside it?

dave,

They're allready in there; cardenals, rams, loaches, corys, rasboras, rainbows, ottos and some more

Thanks to everyone for the comments, I'll keep posting updates. :D
