There are a few on the market these days. Not so long ago the only real choice was Hydor. I've run a Hydor for a few years. They can be a bit temperamental, I've had to take mine apart a few times to get it working after it's been in storage for a few months. Other than that it's kept the tank at an even temp and has been reliable whilst in operation. I think a lot of folk now opt for thermo filters, with a built in or dedicated heater.

Yeah already have the non thermo filters just trying to find out what was the better option 👍

I made my own with PVC, cable glands and a Helio PTC heater.
Been working at 25C for a long time now.

I would like to see pix of your DIY solution. I am personally too scared to go external heater, due to leaks and not working. Also don't they use double the electricity
