Not really, I was going to say it might be Hemigraphis (Strobilanthes) alternata, but the leaves on @eminor's plant look alternate, rather than opposite.@dw1305 or one of the other plant experts can help.

Lobelia spp. have alternate leaves and the <"emersed grown leaves of Lobelia cardinalis"> do look a bit like that.

I can see what you mean, but Mentha aquatica would have opposite leaves as well.Could it be mentha aquatica? That often gets chucked in with the “true” aquatics.
