Just a Quickie. Java fern need filtration ?

Hi just a quick question. I have had to remove my substrate as most of you know lol). Problem is, Im not going to get the tank sorted till between Christmas and New Year most likely. I have got some java fern and pellia that is now sitting in a bucket of the tank water I drained today. Its in the house and the house rarely goes below 18degrees at night and 21 in the day. Is it OK like this for a week or so, or does it need filtration or anything else ?
