As im going to be redoing my Rio 125 I was wondering, are these any other alternatives to the Juwel t5 tubes or will I ahve to pay out £30 per tube?
The tubes are about 15 months old, should I be replacing them anyway?

Under these 2 tubes which are 28w, can I grow any plant easily? I really wouldnt mind having a carpet plant, I have no idea what yet but will my lights penetrate deep enough down into the water? I do have reflectors

Arcadia do J5 tubes which fit the juwel t5 fittings, and I'm pretty sure Sera do some which fit too.
You can't use the cheap generic ones from lampspecs though unfortunately, which is a major pain

You quite often see a lifetime of 15,000 hours against T5 tubes which would be just over 4 years @ 10hrs per day.

Are you satisfied with them? Have any pics of the lights?
