Mixing ferts advice

Hi everyone.
I have a quick question and probably an easy one to answer!

I'm using the IFC calculator and have a 250ml bottle. If I add all my salts to 250ml of liquid I have more liquid than what will fit in my bottle.
So do I start with less liquid to start with or get rid of any excess I might have after mixing?

I think it's just clicked. Start with less, dissolve salts and top up to 250! I don't know why that was so hard haha
