How big it grows, how to trim etc.

Only info I can find is for willisii not willsii

What is the best way to plant it though? with just the leaves sticking out?

Hi Richard,

Plant it from where the stems of the leaves start at the crown where the little bulbs are. If its a 123 pot or or other brand the first leaves will die back fresh growth will appear in a few weeks.

Thanks, I think I planted them ok though they keep coming loose but I think that is my betta who likes swimming under the leaves.

Growth depends on your setup, with co2 or without, in both casses relatively slow so the first months you do not need to think about trimming if planted in this small a size.
With co2 crypts are known to grow twice as big as without co2.. I got a Willisiii (somewhat bigger rockwool version) in a low tech tank and it took it about 5 months to get a bit bushy and grow 5 cm larger. They love some root tabs, obviously to root nice and strong. And they do, they rather first grow roots before they work on the leaves. Mine was firmly rooted within 3 weeks and mean while still only melting leaves..
