Hi guys, came home today to find a few bits of dead leaves knocking about. So had a look and a hell of a lot of the crypts at the back of the tank had melted. Probably due to the bigger ones overshadowing them.

Anyway, my tank is minging now. Crap floating about all over the place.

So, tomorrow when it's water change day I'm going to have a proper plant clear out.

I would like to get rid of all crypts and replace with something. No idea what. I like my blyxa, Staurogyne and lotus's where they are but want something new.

Any advice guys? Recommendations?

Have a look on the Echinodorus-types, if you want something that has same "texture" and appearance. They are generally bigger (but smaller types can be found), but will not melt on you. Generally very easy plants to grow.Tends to overshade other plants, but can be trimmed quite hard and consistantly.
Mick.
