New Filter

Just got a new filter for better flow rate and was wondering if I just transferred my existing bio media would that be enough to seed it without a new cycle?

I have sponges as well but they are much smaller than the trays, should I stick them in anyway?

Any advice much appreciated

Yes, transfer all the media without exception and it should be enough as long as the new filter has the same or better flow rate. In the end of the day, your are the only one that will see what's inside your filter so aesthetics don't matter one bit. In a few months you can start taking away the old media one by one and leave the rest.
