Hi there just a quick question regarding this dosing regime. I want to try it I am just wondering if it can cause pH swings over the week before pwc as the water gets so hard. Also I have a gbr and I was worried that the extra nitrates may trouble him

Hi and welcome 
Im sure there are more qualified than me to comment on ei and water hardening, but i dont think it plays a significant role. With reference to ei, nitrates and Rams take a look at this thread, it may help you out:
