Hi,

I'm currently cycling my new planted tank and my main aim is to have a school of tetra's in it, but I also wondered could any one recommend another small fish that I can have either 1 or two of that will be happy and not eat tetras?

Dwarf cichlids would go nicely with tetras. Most prefer the water softer and more acidic. Bolivian rams are probably the hardiest. Apistogramma and rams are more delicate but stunning colouration

If you're not fussed about keeping it South American-themed then there's loads of choice out there. A pair of Kribensis springs to mind (African). Dwarf gouramis (Asian) are nice and colourful but can often go down easily with bacterial infections.

Dwarf cichilds would be my choice or a couple of algae eaters like otocinclus.

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I will look into to these and today! Bottom dwellers might be a plan!
