Anybody keeping these dwarf kuhli loaches? or ever seen them avialable in the UK? It seems that the wholesaler aquariumglaser sells them, does anybody know of UK suppliers that are able to source fish from them?

I'm pretty sure any independent shop can open an account with them. But they'll normally need to fill at least a whole polybox as a minimum order so go speak to your LFS (not a Maidenhead as sometimes they're limited to the pool of suppliers)

Wildwoods showed them on a stocking list in November, might be worth giving them a call.

If I makes the order easier/more enticing for you/LFS @louis_last id take 20 of them

I will be sure to keep you posted if I find some. Found a guy in Scotland who can get fish from aquarium glaser in germany but glaser just informed me they stopped carrying these guys two weeks ago. Kew aquatics don't have them on their indonesian import list either and said the best bet is just to buy enough kuhlis that you're bound to get a few but that seems like quite a gamble. Fingers crossed for wildwoods. I still have a couple pairs of scarlet badis available for you too if you want them at any point castle.

Wild woods had them 👍

Lol, I'm not overly savy with social media myself mate and I'm struggling to re find the post on their Facebook page.

Have you tried the pre t'internet approach of giving them a tinkle on the old dog and bone.

If I have to resort to that I will, but pronouncing some of these fishes names I tend to sound like a drunk talking whilst eating a kebab!

@louis_last did you ever manage to source these at all mate?
I did. I have seven of these now all from wildwoods. They're really cool fish, I haven't kept regular kuhlis for comparison but as far as I can tell these ones are more or less identical in terms of behaviour just significantly smaller. They're quite shy and tend to spend most of the day in communal burrows that they excavate under pieces of hardscape or slithering about among the roots and rhizomes of a big clump of Bolbitis. They come out for feeding though and can't resist any kind of worm. They will also dig very effectively for grindal worms and the like that work their way into the substrate but eat hikari micro pellets and brine shrimp eggs too. I'm hoping I might be able to breed them at some point.

Thanks Louis, yep I did manage to source some from Wildwoods myself, along with some P. alternans:

I must say Wildwoods managed to get almost all my stock in on request, they are the best fish supplier I've used.

I couldn't agree more! they are really great, for anyone reading this there seems to be a guy called Keith there who is the one to talk to. Really helpful and knowledgeable.
Wooki how have you found the cuneovirgata? do they seem to socialise with the alternans? These are great pictures.

They are great, really interesting little fish. The alternans are bolder, they regularly come out onto the sand digging their heads in searching for worms (presumably). The cuneovirgata come out as well, but 2-3 of them together at a time, and tend to stick to the corners of the tank where they can retreat to the undergrowth more easily.

That's until the food comes out, then all hell breaks loose and they're all out all over the place!

I obviously only see them when they are out and about though, so I've no idea if both the alternans and cuneovirgata huddle up together, or have their own spots.
