removing filter hoses

This may be a daft question but can't work out (must be too early!!)....

If I was to remove the filter hoses from the glass inlets/outlets there will be water left in them...the pipes come up from the rear of the tank (or will do when I've got it set up again), what do people do to remove this water so it doesn't spill out? This issue is more for the inlet.

I have double taps just behind the tank. I just turn off the taps and separate them. Then simply remove the inlet/outlet and empty the water into the tank.

Ahhh was definitely to early for me this morning...was going to use the eheim installation kits but decided I want to use glass again... Will get 4 pairs of these (running 2 filters)
