Well tomorrow im planning a re scape, with a slight change of direction, im planning to use local pennant sandstone(found in south wales coal fields) and im undecided on substrate, ive used sand before, but it can be troublesome when i get algae problems! so i was thinking of gravel but does this make for a lesser substrate for plants? im also thinking of a plant substrate to go under it, is it worth it? and also what kind of large ish plants would you recommend to go with java fern anubias and riccia i was thinking of swords, are these ok with low light and co2?
