Hi people,
I bought some rotala wallichi 10 days ago.
They grew about 7cm since than. But they are thin I would say, will they be more robust later?

U can see on one picture which I marked, one rotala is puting so small stunted new growt, and it's right next to another rotala which is doing much better. Why is that?

I'm dosing 8ml tropica specialized, 2ml tropica premium per day. 112l aquarium. Co2 drop 1,3 stable. Flow should be good cause they are gently waving there.

Should I dose more ferts?

And can I espect some nice color from them with my chihiros A serie light?
By the way light is on one step from maximum, don't have algae. I'm thinking to put it on max. Is this good idea? Light is 50W, 7200 lumen.

You have one of the few plants that really prefers soft water over hard water. You can reach maximum growth with extremely low KH values (0-1) and low pH although this has some drawbacks (like pH stability and CO2 quantity you can dissolve) you should consider. R. wallichii likes also a leaner nitrogen fertilisation; many people keep NO3- lower than 5 ppm to improve red/purple coloration of the tips. Strong lighting and CO2 is recommended.

Thank you guys for advices

@reefaddict I was trying lowering my KH few times, did it with mixing RO and my tap water. When ever I did it I was getting all different kind of deficiency, and returning it back was always good for plants. Cannot find a reason for this really but it's like that. My KH is 8dKH in aquarium.

In the meantime I have already changed my fertilization routine.
Now I'm dosing 8ml tropica premium per day, it doesn't contain N nor P. Tropica specialised I dose just a little bit over the week and when I doo water changes. Plants started growing little bit slower but showing much nicer colors and they are lushier as well.

@hogan53 why not both of them?
With specialised you are adding micros and macros, with premium the same but without N and P. Tropica uses good chelates and its stabile fertilizer. So by combining these two you can adjust N and P. You can see on tropica website in their aquarium gallery that in all aquariums they are using mix of those two, in some more premium, in some more specialised, depends of the plant types and plant mass. And since I'm using tropica I dont have green stones anymore, with EI I always had them, plants were happy but not like now.

I know that tropica is basically expensive water :) but while I have this 29gall tank it's gonna be fine.
Yes I doo have micro there, but if I dose to have enough micro I will add a lot of N, don't you think?

I dose just in output of the lily pipe. On that picture they are right next to each other but still You can see the difference. Its not flow, all are waiving there.

By the way yesterday I rescaped tank, was sick already of how it looks, still learning how to scape.
Maybe I shouldn't doo this cause its just over a month old but couldn't help my self :) Putting picture today when come home.

Hi hogan53, that can be possible. I did cut it, and for now they are growing nicely, I mean it's really early to say it now...but new growth by now looks better.
