Hi there, I just bought an older Roma 240 tank that has the internal in and out flow pipes that connect to the base of the inner tank then go through a hole in the cabinet into ribbed tubes. The tubes are fluval but don’t have the rubber connectors to plug into the fluval external filter. Is it essential to have the grey rubber connectors or can I just go ahead and plug the ribbed tubes into the filter and lock with the red twist lock? Basically can I connect the ribbed tubes to the filter without the grey rubber connectors

Hi
I've never owned a Fluval external filter so unsure if that would be a secure method.
Personally I would just purchase new hoses or the rubber adapter/connectors!
Have a look below on Ebay
