Hi all,

I'm going to be trying to put together my hardscape later but I have a quick question about the stone sizes. Is size determined by mass/overall size, or by height? I have a stone that I believe to be smaller than my main stone, but it's tall and narrow. Is this OK or should I try and find something else? And how different should each stone be in size?

Many thanks

Iwagumi_Scaper,

The Iwagumi layout, invented by Takashi Amano, is for many aquascaping fanatics one off the most beautiful planted tank styles out there. At first glance the Iwagumi looks simplistic and minimal, but it’s actually one of the most difficult aquascaping layout styles to accomplish.
This is something you must never forget too many think its just a matter of putting a few rocks in a tank and call it an Iwagumi "Style" This is the reason I posted the above links for you, once you understand the theory and the basics the rest will follow very easily.

What will help you a lot will be making a mock tank and having a lot of fun along the way.
