There is only 6 or so and they are pretty big the largest being 13-15 mm across, Ive not seen any small ones but i think my fish may be eating any small ones. After a quick google it seems they are probably plant safe?

They are plant safe.
I like having them in my tanks, I find they make excellent clean up crew (slow but steady).
They never get out of hand for me (I suspect as I feed my tanks quite sparingly).

As the others have said Red Ramshorn (Planorbis corneus), they are mainly plant safe and great for maintenance, and I have them in all my tanks where the water is hard enough for them. There only down side is that they can become numerous enough to keep shrimps off their vegetables. As well as Puffers and Loaches, If you crush them they are a favoured food for Dwarf cichlids etc.
