Snail ID please!

I'll get a picture up later, but in the meantime, here's a description:

Small (at present?), 1-3mm diameter shell
Shell is a circular coil, flat (i.e. like a disc).
Shell is at right angles to the snail (like a set of helicopter rotors).

I've had these appear in the last couple of days in my big tank, which is strange since I haven't added anything "foreign" for many many weeks now. Hopefully my botia striata will deal with them, but at the moment they don't appear interested.

They look a bit like the "small ramshorns" in the link below, but I'll get a picture anyways in case there are ID nuances that I'm missing.

Yeah, just a small ramshorn.
I have them in my tanks too. They aren't any trouble to speak of.

Always good to hear that they aren't trouble, since I seem to be having q bit of a population explosion!If they get out of hand then there might be some going free on the forums soon .

Best way to catch them if your keen is to use a trap. I use the JbL limcollect with good results.

I'm hoping some sort of natural equilibrium will be reached with my Botia's, but we'll see.

Rather than starting another thread, I've just notice this fella in my tank - any suggestions?

To my untrained eye they look like MTS? Also, they seem to mooch along the gravel, digging into the first few millimetres fairly often so just the point of their shell is visible, which I believe fits with MTS behaviour?

If they are MTS, I'm lucky, both of my snail hitchhikers thus far are beneficial ones!
