Snails

Hi, i have 4 red ramshorns, 4 zebra ,and a pointy orange snail (which i liberated from my local,not very good ,ignorant owner ,dead fish all over the place fish shop lol, ) anyhow there are now 2 empty shells on my sand, 1 ramshorn and one zebra , have they died or do snails shed ther shells?

snails do not shed their shells so they must have died.

This is a long shot but does the pointy, orangey, liberated snail look anything like the one here. http://www.aquaticquotient.com/gallery/ ... =8393&c=10

If so then he/she has assassinated your other 2 snails and will have the others for breakfast when it gets hungry.

If not then maybe they just died unless you have any fish that may have had them for lunch.

hi, thanks for the replys, no,it isnt one of those, so i reckon theymust have keeled over, my tank is open topped and in the kitchen, so i blamed the girlfriend.
